FAQ

Who are you, what do you do and why?

o I’m Calvin. I'm working to make life better. Because I care.

Do you really pick your nose?

o Yes.

Why do you call yourself a speaker?

o Because speech is a manifestation of thought.

Why do you call yourself a writer?

o Because writing is a manifestation of thought.

Why do you call yourself a thinker?

o Because that’s what I do. All day every day, all night every night. And I’ve gotten pretty good at it.

Do you have any expertise or any idea what you’re doing?

o No.

I'm nobody in the middle of nowhere, can I invite you to speak to my group?

o Of course. Don't be silly.

What can I invite you to speak about?

Whatever you'd like. If you're interested in learning about sexual and gender diversity, I recommend my LGBTTIQQ2SAA Labyrinth presentation. If you're interested in understanding the transsexual experience, I recommend my Meet Calvin presentation and children's book. If you're interested in stopping bullying, I recommend my On Bullying presentation. And I'm interested in pretty much everything else so anything goes.

How can I donate?

o I hate money. My work is a gift that I fiercely give freely. But having a house and a family and no income means that I do sincerely appreciate financial support when possible.

o If you invite me to speak to your group, consider whether there’s a budget for an honorarium and/or compensation for long-distance travel. Otherwise, don't worry, I don’t discriminate against the budgetless.

o You can attend my public presentations and drop something in the donation box. I’m also assembling crafts, booklets and other handmade items that you can take away with you in exchange for donations. It’s a great way to recycle material and it keeps these hands from getting idle.

o If you can’t attend my presentations but you’re nonetheless oddly eager to support me, there’s a postal address on my contact page. Google “how to send money by mail” if you’re unfamiliar with those ancient ways.

o Forgive me for not making it easier to donate. These methods are already a step outside my comfort zone. At least this way people who donate do it because they care enough to go out of their way. I like that.

How else can I support you?

o Do whatever you can to make life better.

o Give me your crappy old bits and bobs for my crafts.
