1 can chickpeas, drained & rinsed
2 cloves of garlic
1 T lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
2 T tahini (or peanut butter with a few drops sesame oil)
2 T oil
Spice as desired (cayenne, chili powder, dill are all options)

Place all ingredients in a food processor and puree to desired consistency. Can add water or soy milk to get a creamy consistency. Taste and adjust flavors to your individual liking.

For variety try adding 1/2 c fresh parsley and 1/2 tsp cumin for a more Middle Eastern flavor.
